![]() Many people have put off treatment thinking they would have to face vein stripping, which is major surgery requiring hospitalization, general anesthesia, several weeks of recovering time, and results in significant scarring, pain and other potential risks and complications. Now there is no reason to postpone treatment. The endovenous laser treatment at D clinic offers a virtually pain-free, quick and highly successful treatment alternative that gets you back to your life in the same day. Since the late 1990s there have been several new therapies offered as an alternative to vein stripping for the treatment of varicose veins sclerotherapy, radiofrequency, endovenous lasers. It is very important to understand the treatment options available to you and the differences between these treatments so you can make an informed decision about your care. Sclerotherapy: In this procedure a solution is injected into the varicose vein to be reabsorbed by one’s own body. Potential side effects include blood clots, pain, skin discoloration that can last for up to a year. Although injection sclerotherapy successfully treat small veins visible under the skin, the current treatment for larger, bulging varicose veins is only 50% effective 2 years post treatment. Radiofrequency: This procedure uses heats generated from radiofrequency (RF) electric current to close varicose vein. Due to limitations of the design, certain larger vein sizes cannot be treated using RF. This procedure may not appropriate for many patients with very large varicose veins. Endovenous laser: The newest technology available, this procedure uses light waves to eliminate varicose veins. Due to the technology used, endovenous medical lasers are able to treat large range of vein sizes. There are several different endovenous laser today. The single most critical component that determines the overall success of endovenous laser treatment is the laser’s wave length. The endovenous laser adopted at D clinic has a 1320 nm wavelength, which has been found to be the most comfortable and effective laser treatment for varicose veins. With this laser, you will receive the best results available. You will experience minimal, if any, pain, bruising or post op complications and the success rate is 98-100 %. ・Most comfortable procedure available ・Rapid relief of symptoms ・Virtually pain free ・No down time ・No general anesthesia ・Quick, office based procedure As compared with the endovenous laser used for relative large varicose veins, Mydon long-pulsed Nd: YAG laser improves varicose veins with a diameter less than 3mm.
